Live the life your soul wants

Meet your soul

The journey with your inner self may be the longest journey you will ever take! but it will be the most enlightening one you will ever have.

The soul self is sometimes referred to by people as the higher self. Discovering your soul means discovering your true inner being so you can align with your purpose.

Your inner soul is your best friend, it knows you better than anyone ever will. It wants you to live your life as your true self.

As I have explained in my Life purpose art, to know your true path in life and understand what you came here to experience and learn, you need develop a relationship with your inner self.

People have a difficulty connecting with there inner because there are often so many things clouding their perspective of who they think they are and what their perceptions of themselves are, which does create obstacles that interfere with getting out of the way of oneself. When we can let go of what we think we know and be willing to listen to what the inner is trying to tell us, we can then begin to hear its wisdom.

One of the problems people face when starting on a journey of discovering their spiritual self is they don’t understand what this means for their growth. As far as the soul is concerned when you ask to align with it, you are asking to be pushed long more quickly. Your inner self is not concerned with the difficulties you may have, as it has an agenda for you to fulfil its purpose of which you have given it permission to step up when asking for this.

Others on this journey may have inspired you to live a life guided by your inner and they may have been taking this journey for a long time. They can be great examples of what you can achieve however, your relationship with your soul is yours, and what you experience and learn will be unique to you.

Where do I start? ^

Firstly, you may need to understand about your blocks, patterns and what is holding you back before you can start effectively connecting with the inner because these are the things that make it difficult to connect to the inner. Your inner is not going to tell you what you want to hear. It has your best interests at heart and wants you to evolve for the better. The personality often resists this because it wants what it wants. It takes time and patience to build a strong relationship with the inner soul.

There are many ways you can awaken your soul connection. It takes commitment and patience with yourself. You will need to challenge the perceptions you have of yourself and embrace the life that is waiting for you, rather than the one you planned.

Connecting with the inner ^

Your inner voice will be familiar sounding to you and it will talk in a language you relate to, but it will be one of a few voices you may hear when trying to connect with it (no you’re not schizophrenic, but do not tell the doctor this), so you will need to learn to discern the one that is telling you the truth.

As you purify your thoughts and feelings over time, the souls voice will shine through more clearly, and you will know it is real. In your daily life, your soul is also constantly sending you messages in the form of symbols, signs, dreams, opportunities and challenges. Your inner is always trying to steer you in the right direction, and never gives up just because you are not listening.

Strategies ^

You will need to incorporate some strategies and practices for the long term to keep you in tune with your inner guidance.

Some ways that help you connect with your soul self are:

  1. a. Meditate - Meditation is an essential part of connecting with yourself. To hear the wisdom from our inner we need to learn to sit in silence and practice being quiet. If you’ve never meditated before, start with 10 minutes and day and build up to 30 minutes.
  2. b. Write - Keep a journal of whatever insights or thoughts come to you at any time. After meditation, it is good to write anything that comes. Don’t judge or try to filter it. When you reflect on your notes at another time, you may understand the wisdom that came through.
  3. c. Self-awareness - Gain more self-awareness about your thoughts and feelings and what’s right in front of you. Getting to know yourself better helps you choose what you want and how to respond to the world around you.
  4. d. Mindfulness - Mindfulness is a Buddhist approach and you don’t need a guru to teach it to you. If you feel you want to be part of a group or get guidance with this go for it, but you can easily practice this on your own if you wish. Practising mindfulness helps you pay attention to the present moment thus not worrying about the past or future.
  5. e. People - Connect and share with others whom are aspiring to connect with their spiritual self.
  6. f. Read - Reading spiritual books that you are drawn to can help you explore spirituality and what it means for you.
  7. g. Contemplation - Aside of your meditation, spend some time each day in contemplation and ask “What does my inner soul want me to know? Allow whatever comes and write these things in a journal. You can take any questions to contemplation. The answers may not come straight away or they may come when you least expect them, and sometimes in a form that is not words so it’s important to pay attention of what’s in front of you.
  8. h. Guided meditation - There are many guided mediations on the internet that take you through exercises to connect with your inner. Try them out if you feel drawn to any of them.

The important thing is to take charge of your journey, it’s yours to choose how you wish to experience it.
