Live the life your soul wants

Life purpose

Discovering our true essence, gifts and why we are here.

Be yourself ^

Be yourself, how many times have you heard that? Implying you can just do it. Overused terms like this are platitudes which don't have value or help you.

We need to dig deeper, getting to the simple isn’t simplistic.

Be kind and patient with yourself, it takes time to unravel the false perceptions you have about who you are to know how to be yourself.

Who was I before I forgot? ^

We are born knowing who we are but then we give it away by allowing people, role models and society to tell us who we are until we forget. Many of us will wake up one day and ask ourselves, 'Who was I before I was told to be somebody else'.

I came here knowing who I am
Then I was sentenced to sleep
And told to follow the sheep
As I left the sheep to graze alone
I discovered a different tone
A space where I could roam
A place I’ve always known.

Why are we here if not to experience the miracle of life? ^

It’s sad if one chooses to let the true essence of who they are lay undiscovered. Human potential is enormous. It can be so easy to be caught up in the ritual of daily living without really connecting with purpose, and what would give life real meaning.

Don’t you ever wonder if you’re much more than you think you are?
Is this it, is there something better?

I am here to experience the gifts and challenges of human existence.

To:

  • Become who I truly am
  • Discover my gifts and give them away
  • Learn from others
  • Trust in myself, my intuition
  • Embrace compassion, kindness, humility
  • Serve humanity.

Why are you here, do you know what you have come to learn, do and experience?

This life ^

When I was young no one encouraged me to live a meaningful life. I remember my grandfather saying it doesn’t matter what you do, it’s what you bring home in your pocket that matters. I thought this was sad that he thought money was more important than doing something that brought meaning and purpose to his life. If anything, that only made it clearer what I wanted to bring to this life.

I don’t know about you, but I want to leave this world knowing I have lived a life I am proud of, and that I have lived it doing as little harm as possible, because we all do even if it isn’t our intention.

I'm just walking to the beat of my own drum discovering the gems along the way. I’m not everyone’s cup of tea and everyone isn’t mine but why not share tea together anyway.

With gratitude,
Devaki.
