Unmasking autism

Society dictates the illusion we must be chasing life to thrive, so how can autistic people thrive in a sensory triggering world that projects unrealistic expectations of humanity.

In solitude, I hear the truth inside where the noise of the world fades, and I no longer hide. I let go of my mask, and I open wide to the wisdom in the stillness, where my soul can guide.

This site offers articles about what it means to be autistic, and how to be who we are in a world that does not tolerate autism. I also share information about my journey as a very late diagnosed autistic adult, and the impact it has had on my life not discovering I was autistic until I was 63 years old.

Autistic people are not broken neurotypical people with autism, and they do not need fixing. Autistic people are unique like any human being and have come here to discover who they are and live a meaningful life. They are not here to fit in to societies projections of normal to fulfil their journey in life but rather for society to embrace neurodiversity so all humans ae treated equally.

Autism awareness has increased diagnosis, but it has not brought much to autism acceptance, and awareness has often been used against autisitc people instead. Autistic people feel they have no other choice but to supress their autistic traits. There is no such thing as high functioning autism, only the illusion it exists. High functioning is all about autism suppression, thus hiding autistic traits for the benefit of others.

Many autistic people have been cast aside by their families and society and have experienced a life of trauma through abuse, stigma, ableism and sensory overload. My aim is to inspire other autistic people to find meaning and peace by living life on their own terms.
