Conscious solitude nurtures our true essence, and is the only real way of hearing what our hearts are trying to tell us.

Self-advocacy is important in living life on our own terms. However, having a disability adds to the challenge of living life on our own terms. Sometimes we must distance ourselves from people to get what we need, because they refuse to support us on our journey to being ourselves.

Tuning in to our emotions, thoughts and feelings allows us to see beyond the masks we put on for society and other people in our lives. Spending time in solitude allows us to remove the masks as listen to the voice of our inner wisdom and conscience.

Self-awareness is very important if we want to live life advocating for ourselves. This is why some time in conscious solitude is needed for everyone. This is a place I live in most of the time because it is right for me, and my mental health despite society saying this isn’t a healthy way to live. These are only projections which lack understanding we are not a one size all society. If we understand the psychology of people, then we know that most of what society is preaching is nonsense.

Solitude allows us to become more self-aware thus we need conscious solitude to find depth in isolation of a busy world full of noise. My way of doing this is to combine solitude, minimalism and awareness which creates a clearer path to self-discovery. In embracing conscious solitude, minimalism and awareness we develop more understanding of who we are, and what we truly need.

Solitude cultivates a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world around. It is in this space we find our creativity and tap into a world of insight and clarity we were unaware of before. People often see solitude as isolating from the world but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. It is in this space we engage with the world more fully brining about more purpose and inner peace to or lives.
